The October Centre of Contemporary Culture (OCCC) is a project aimed at revitalising Valencian society and culture from a progressive national perspective. The centre is located in the former El Siglo warehouses, an emblematic building that has been fully rehabilitated and restructured to convert it into a dynamic cultural element, whilst retaining its main structure and features. The building is equipped with all suitable facilities and opened in 2006 as OCCC.

El Siglo was a warehouse complex dedicated to the sale of materials and fabrics from the beginning of the 20th century. The project's architect is not known with certainty but it may have been Joaquim Arnau, who had mastered new construction techniques at the time. The major highlight of the complex is a large interior courtyard around which the well-lit, metallic warehouse floors have been arranged. Other highlights include various decorative elements, capitals, mouldings, wrought iron banisters, etc, all of which are eclectic in style, and certain Modernista elements, such as the lamp in the central area or the elevator casing. Renovation work in 1953 completely changed the building's façade on Carrer Sant Ferran. The latest restoration was carried out by a team of architects coordinated by Carles Dolç.
